Contracts Manager

Permanent Contracts Manager required in Cork.

Your new role
A Contracts Manager who will be responsible for the operational and commercial activities of all Civils, Telecoms & Water (Excl. Power) Contracts nationally. The successful candidate will be based in the Cork Head Office.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Group Operations Director. This position will provide support in all areas to the Operations Director as well as the team members, and requires a high degree of operational, contractual, commercial and technical knowledge.

This position requires that an individual be comfortable in a fast paced work environment, as well as possess excellent problem solving skills, superior organisational and communication skills and the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Responsibility for the operational and commercial activities of all Civils, Telecoms & Water (Excl. Power) Contracts nationally,
  • Manage all aspects of Client and subcontractor liaison (incl. selection) as well as team management to ensure schedules are achieved, and KPIs are met.
  • Effectively plan resources for all operations, including interviewing, selection and training.
  • Ensure effective performance management of team and subcontractors.
  • Communicate effectively with Clients to understand their current and future needs, and address same.
  • Oversee the Performance Management & Development of team members to develop a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Risk Identification and Control.
  • Ensure proper site records are maintained.
  • Ensure all site works are carried out to the standard required.
  • Liaise closely with SHEQ Manager to ensure compliance for all works on site.
  • Manage the supply of all materials, liaise closely with procurement, Storemen and supervisors to ensure adequate supplies available.
  • Site Meetings with Client and Project Staff as required, and participate in other meetings as required.
  • Liaise with local authorities / statutory undertakers as required.
  • Provide back up supervision for projects only as required.
  • Develop Business Process Controls and provide accurate reports on operational and commercial activities.
  • Embrace the introduction of Lean Construction into the business.
  • Manage the commercials associated with each Contract and sign-off on CVR’s at month-end.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Management Team, identify business opportunities, and assist/lead in the tender process as necessary.
