Your new role

Under the general direction and guidance of the Payroll Team Lead, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for the following:

  • Full responsibility for accurate and timely processing of the payroll and have a general awareness of other payroll priorities within the department.
  • Accurately calculate and process all Payroll related amendments
  • Assess and meet payroll deadlines, while allowing appropriate time for checking.
  • Ensure all deadlines relating to the authorisation of Time and Attendance clock cards by Line Managers are adhered to.
  • Review of all hours from the Time and Attendance system for accuracy.
  • Provide a superior customer service and respond to and resolve employee salary queries with efficiency and professionalism in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Transfer Salaries to bank via Banking Software adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Complete all salary/mortgage forms within the agreed timeframes of the Department.
  • Administer the payment of all Health Insurance and all other voluntary deductions.
  • Liaise with Senior Payroll officer in ensuring that you are fully trained up in all areas of the payroll department.
  • Evaluate payroll processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Display a strong customer service ethos and ensure high quality standards are met.
  • Foster and develop collaborative working within the companies System in advising and supporting the delivery of the Group Payroll Function
  • General ad hoc administration duties
  • Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ensure that a high level of confidentiality is maintained at all times

What you'll need to succeed

  • IPASS qualification
  • Ideally 3+ years relevant experience in processing high volume in processing high volume payrolls (with regular changes).
  • Relevant Experience in a Healthcare setting or a Shared Service Centre environment
    Experience with Megapay and a Time Management System is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft programs, particularly Excel skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail with ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong relationship building skills and customer service orientated
