Finance Manager

Expanding Cork company require a Finance Manager to join their Cork HQ, overseeing AP, AR & Treasury.

Your new role

You will take full responsibility for leading and supporting the AR, AP and Treasury functions. This comprises of over 15 team members. You will report to and work closely with the Group Financial Controller to maximize productivity, develop staff and improve processes.

You need to be a people-focused professional, who demonstrates ability to make decisions as a leader to drive team performance and improve processes.

Key responsibilities and activities
  • Full responsibility for the management of a large finance team
  • Review existing processes within the Finance department, implementing improvements where appropriate
  • Monitoring of KPI’s and establishment of a continuous improvement culture
  • Monitor daily cash positioning and cashflow forecasting for the group
  • Management of the groups asset-based lending facilities
  • FX execution and hedging (forward contracts)
  • Identify risks and opportunities that may affect the financial performance of the company
  • Plan, co-ordinate and liaise with external auditors in the successful completion of the annual statutory financial statement audits
  • Support the completion of various month end reporting schedules
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller & the Finance team in the development of the financial control & reporting framework
  • Build relationships with external partners such as banks, commercial insurance and pension brokers ensuring we maximize services provided and maintain competitive rates
  • Various ad-hoc analysis and finance reporting as required

What you'll need to succeed

You must be a Qualified Accountant, ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA with a minimum of 2 Years’ experience in a similar Finance Manger role.

YOU MUST have experience in managing, leading, and developing members of a Finance team with the ability to take ownership and responsibility for the role from an early stage.

  • High level of Excel
  • Commercial awareness
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous

You Need to Have:
  • Strong People Management skills - communication, ability to support, motivate and develop your team to improve and drive performance across the function, whilst ensuring they are aligned to the overall Company strategy
  • Proven ability to develop a team whose performance levels are constantly high both regarding their outputs and their attitudes and behaviours
  • Ability to prioritise multiple deadlines - Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving
  • Adaptable and capable of working on own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build relationships with external stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic and driven to succeed
  • Works under pressure, deadline orientated and flexible working attitude
