Your new role
This is an 11 month contract - As the FP&A Accountant, you will report to the Finance Manager and be responsible for working with the organisations business managers to collate, scrutinise and consolidate information in the production of the financial budget. This process will involve the use of data modelling (currently using Excel), scenario planning and analysis, and generation of presentations for senior management use. The position will also be involved in the capital grant management and accounting process and the financial year end process, including the production of draft financial statements for approval and subsequent audit.

In addition you will prepare various presentations for senior management and the Board, to enable review and approval of the budget in a timely manner. Perform ongoing analysis of actual spend versus budget, to enable ongoing spend management.

What you'll need to succeed

You must be a qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA and have at least 5 years’ experience working in a general accounting or finance environment. You must have at least 3 years’ experience of working in a forecasting or budgeting, planning and analysis position, including working with non-finance business managers in the production of a realistic financial budget, linked to business plan deliverables.

Expertise in data analysis and financial modelling, Use of Advanced Excel for data modelling and have a demonstrable understanding FP&A in a business context. You must have the ability to deal with people at different level throughout the organisation and the confidence to build and maintain effective relationships with business managers (including non-finance business managers) and senior managers. You must have the ability to gather and analyse information from multiple sources and to apply good judgement, to inform and form the basis of a financial budget.
