Based in Cork, they provide electronic products for a wide range of industries including computing, medical, telecommunications and manufacturing. They are now looking for an engineering research and development manager to join their team to plan, lead and conduct all engineering projects.
Your new role
As the new engineering research and development manager, you will be responsible for managing all projects within the company from beginning to end. This includes inception, co-ordinating with all relevant departments and ensuring there is satisfactory completion with the customers.
Your main objectives will to be familiar with the company’s clients and needs, be fully accountable for all engineering projects to meet timeline and cost targets, track and analyse critical program parameters to improve product development processes and quality, manage and provide work direction and priorities to project teams, and to interact with other departments and teams to achieve objectives and improve processes.
Your duties will also include overseeing and motivating the team of engineers reporting into you and growing that team in line with the company’s strategic plans, setting up and maintaining budgets to ensure minimal overspend and underspend Striving continuously to improve resource utilisation and delivery time of projects through monitoring and process improvements.
What you'll need to succeed
A minimum of an Honours Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Proven leadership experience leading and managing engineering projects and teams and experience in an electronics development environment is essential.
An ideal candidate’s skills will include effective decision making, project and time management, problem solving, budgetary control and effective communications and interpersonal qualities.
What you'll get in return
A salary of €71,000 to €84,000 depending on experience as well as a range of benefits.
