Field service engineer required for a leading Irish company in scientific laboratory equipment industry.

Founded in 1958 they employ thirty people and operate out of their premises in the north or Ireland and a registered office in Dublin. They stock and distribute a wide range of laboratory apparatus, chemicals and instrumentation to a very large and diverse range of customers throughout Ireland. Their customers represent all scientific disciplines in both the private and public sectors. The company has developed and nurtured strong relationships with some of the very best known suppliers in the laboratory world over many of its sixty years existence. They also have an experienced service department which maintains and supports the full range of equipment sold.

Your new role
In this exciting and challenging position, you’ll have the chance to work with an extensive customer base and play an important role in the continued success and growth of the business.

Joining the Service Team, you’ll work with broad range of laboratory equipment including; autoclaves, centrifuges, fridges, freezers, incubators and biological safety cabinets, and will undertake calibration, servicing and maintenance activities. Maintaining all associated documentation, you’ll complete service reports and calibration certificates.
You will also be involved in the following :

  • Carry out routine service and maintenance, emergency repairs and general technical support for our customers throughout Ireland.
  • Deliver high quality service and support to customer site.
  • Complete service and calibration documentation in compliance with GDP (Good Documentation Practice) and in a timely fashion.
  • Provide creative, innovative solutions to customer technical issues based on sound knowledge of product portfolio and strong, up to date competency.
  • Any other additional task consummates with the level and scope of the role as deemed by management of the company.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Ideal candidate will typically have a minimum NFQ Level 5-6 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Electronics, Electronic Servicing, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • Craft certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automated Process Control background with field service experience.
  • Full clean driving licence.
    • Previous experience as a Laboratory is advantageous, but not essential.
    • Experience in service and repair of White Goods/Domestic appliances, HVAC and/or refrigeration would also be beneficial.
