What the role entails
Para Sport Network Development: Establish a network of regional contacts to support sustainable Para Sport gateways and pathways.
Stakeholder Relationships: Cultivate positive and trusting relationships with key stakeholders. Collaborate with organisations to promote inclusive practices and create welcoming environments.
Strategic Collaboration: Proactively collaborate with partners and communications team to highlight the impact and potential of Para Sport.
Planning and Delivery:
Event Coordination: Organise and execute regional Para Sport “come and try” events in partnership with Local Sport Partnerships (LSPs), National Governing Bodies (NGBs), and disability sports organisations.
Stakeholder Workshops: Facilitate workshops where stakeholders can share lived experiences and collectively problem-solve.
Para Sport Support Packages: Develop comprehensive Para Sport support packages, including classification education, Para Sport information sessions, and athlete recruitment initiatives.
Insight and Reporting:
Promoting Progression and Performance: Contribute to fostering a culture of growth and excellence within our Para Sport community. Utilise insights, innovation, and learning opportunities.
Regular Updates: Provide timely updates and reports on local engagements, events, and collected insights.
Local Program Understanding: Enhance our understanding of local providers offering inclusive and accessible programs, training, and competitions for para-athletes.
What we're looking for
Project/Program Design Experience: Demonstrated success in designing and delivering projects or programs.
Effective Planning and Delegation: Strong organisational and delegation skills.
Stakeholder Management: Proven experience working with multiple partners, stakeholders, and volunteers to achieve successful outcomes.
Recent Interdisciplinary Experience: Successfully working within an interdisciplinary team (sporting or non-sporting context).
Collaborative Team Player: Approachable, consultative, and collaborative style with an optimistic Outlook.
Regional Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel regionally for stakeholder meetings and events.
Adaptability: The role will require some evening and weekend meetings, and I may undertake travel abroad as needed.
Beneficial to your application
Qualification: Third-level qualification, preferably in a Sports/People development-related field or discipline.
Experience: Experience and understanding from being involved within the disability sports sector
