Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced Quality engineering Manager to join our client, a leading M+E contractor based in Waterford.

The client are leading provider of Mechanical & Electrical contracting services in Ireland. With decades of experience delivering complex projects across various sectors, including Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Public Works, Industrial, and Commercial, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and excellence.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to join our team in Waterford and lead our quality assurance efforts.

As the Quality Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of our projects, drawing on your extensive experience in both the construction engineering and pharmaceutical industries. You will lead a team of quality professionals, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent quality across all projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish quality objectives and ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, procedures, and systems related to quality assurance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters, both internally and externally, fostering positive relationships with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices in quality assurance, and incorporate relevant changes into our processes and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 20+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 10 years in the construction engineering industry and 10 years within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record of leadership in quality assurance, with experience managing teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards relevant to both the construction engineering and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve complex quality issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, CQI) is highly desirable.
