Quantity Surveyors required in Galway and Mayo by construction companies for exciting new projects.

Your new company

You will be working within a well-established team on exciting construction projects in the west of Ireland. Due to the continued development and expansion, the company is actively seeking to hire a Quantity Surveyor for their team. Opportunities are available for both junior and senior candidates. You will have the opportunity to develop and bring added value to your career and gain additional skills. The company is dedicated to sustaining its reputation for quality and excellence in the construction industry.

Requirements:

  • Third level Degree in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Minimum of 2+ years QS experience
  • Minimum 2+ years experience with a Main Contractor
  • Ability to QS / price projects / deal with interim payments / valuations / negotiation with sub contractors / agree final accounts
  • Knowledge of varying Irish Forms of Contracts and Contract Procedures and Protocol
  • Competent in all forms of surveying packages, Microsoft Excel, Buildsoft, etc.. (strongly computer-literate – Cubit an advantage)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills dealing with design team / client/ meetings etc.
  • Previous experience working on high quality medium - large-scale public and private contracts in various sectors: - Industrial / Health / Pharma / Commercial / Education / Civils.


Skills:

  • Contractually and commercially astute
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Effective Team Player
  • Knowledge of Buildsoft Global Estimating/Cubit/Excel/Word
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to work on their own initiative
