Site/Setting Out Engineer - Building Contractor - Dublin Region

Your new company

Your new company has been operating for 50 plus years, becoming one of Ireland's leading contractors in construction. They are currently operating nationally with expertise and experience in the delivery of many of Ireland’s flagship infrastructural and building projects, working across the Residential and Commercial sectors.

They are now looking for an experienced Site/Setting Out Engineer to join their team.


Your new role

You will work alongside a passionate and high-performing onsite management team working with the collective goal of delivering complex projects on time and within budget for their loyal clients. You will be trusted with carrying out the below duties:

  • Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
  • Monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client.
  • Setting out using a variety of instruments as chosen by the company.
  • Supervise and monitor workforce and subcontractor’s work.
  • Report progress of works to Site Agent and highlight any issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
  • Quality management and ITP co-ordination.
  • Adhere to planning, health and safety and environmental standards.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of data and information to site teams, key stakeholders and partners


What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in this position you will hold a third Level Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Engineering role with a Building or Civils Contractor. Possessing strong planning, organisational and teamwork skills whilst having excellent communication and presentation skills is crucial. You will be proficient using Total Station/GPS/Leica, as well as Microsoft Office Products. Having the ability to build strong relationships with clients, staff and subcontractors is important and advantageous in this role.


What you'll get in return

They pride themselves on staff retention, offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects. While salaries for this role depend on your experience, they typically sit between €55,000 and €65,000 along with a generous benefits package including a vehicle/travel allowance, pension etc.
