Bring the finance function in-house for this long-established East Cork-headquartered successful SME.
Your new company
The company has over 70 employees and established for more than 25 years with its main base in East Cork. There is a group of companies all aligned to the same industry sector with varying levels of support from within the Group. The company has a long-serving work-force and has a reputation as a good employer.
Your new role
The Finance Function is currently being supported by an internal on-site part qualified finance team, with the financial and management accounts being produced by an external accounting Firm. We want to bring the finance function fully in-house and that’s why this position is immediately available.
We want you to put your own footprint on this and develop a finance structure that is fit for purpose.
Financial Reporting :
- Prepare financial and management accounts.
- Handle Closings: Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Balance Sheets and Profit/Loss Statements: Maintain and analyse these critical documents.
Financial Record Keeping :
- Tracking Payments: Monitor payments to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Reconciling Bank Statements: Ensure that bank statements match the company’s records.
- Processing Tax Payments and Returns: Handle tax payments and prepare accurate tax returns.
Budgeting and Forecasting :
- Produce Weekly Cashflow Statements.
- Prepare Forecasts and work with management to create financial plans.
- Monitor expenditure and keep a close eye on spending to ensure adherence to budgets.
Auditing and Compliance :
- Take ownership of the Audit and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure we comply with accounting standards.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant rules and guidelines.
Team Management :
- Manage and guide the existing finance team.
- Cross-train team members
What you'll need to succeed
- You must be a qualified accountant with experience in an SME or coming directly from practice.
- A strong communicator who can work with and get engagement from varying departments.
- A knowledge of Excel and Computerised systems such as SAGE is important.
What you'll get in return
