Senior Offshore Foundation Engineer required on a permanent basis by Ireland's largest Utilities organisation

Who will you be working for?

You will be working for Ireland's foremost energy, electricity and utilities organisation, which has been in operation here since the 1920s. As the leading company in their sector nationally, they are hugely committed to sustainable energy solutions, with a great emphasis on achieving zero carbon emissions by 2040. Working as a Senior Offshore Foundation Engineer, you will be an integral part of the innovative, progressive, and diverse environment that exists within the organisation. This role can be based out of the organisations North Dublin or Cork offices, and would also require travel to project locations as required. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and lead the technical delivery of structures relating to offshore wind during the full lifecycle of development and operations within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Specialist, you will lead the technical delivery of offshore wind, fixed bottom for both WTGs and offshore substations. Your focus will be on fixed foundations, ensuring robust technical solutions. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, assess designs, and provide strategic leadership. You will play a key role in the overall organisation responsibility for assuring that the designs and deliverables relating to fixed foundations for offshore wind farms are robust, technically correct, of the required quality, commercially acceptable and in line with key project success requirements during all project phases including certification, fabrication, transport & installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance. Along with this, you will own and maintain significant up to date knowledge and understanding of OSW foundation engineering, risks, challenges, and solutions for fixed bottom designs. Along with this, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate DevEx, CapEx and OpEx assumptions and estimates relating to offshore structures throughout the various stages of project development for various projects. Additionally, you will represent the organisation at key industry events, present technical papers at OSW industry forums, and build and maintain key strategic relationships with internal and external industry stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

You will be educated to a minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification. We are looking for candidates with minimum 8 years' experience in marine infrastructure engineering, including design of large scale foundation structures similar to those employed for wind turbine generators and offshore sub-stations. You will have strong knowledge of leading, planning, managing and executing offshore foundation design contracts, design management, program management, cost and risk control. You will be extensively well versed in the design and/or design management of offshore foundations (monopiles and jackets) and have experience in integrated load analysis, primary and secondary steel designs, corrosion protection systems, structural materials, welding, fatigue, bolt design, FE analysis, environmental loading, transport and installation, operation and maintenance. Furthermore, you will have a strong capability in assessing, communicating and managing project critical technical risks, excellent organisational skills and the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, along with the opportunity to lead Ireland's transition to net zero carbon future. A progressive, hybrid-working model is in operation, along with excellent career development through mentoring and training. Along with this you will have access to various staff-well being programmes and comprehensive diversity and inclusion programmes.
